How to use
Step 1. Tick power signs
Confirm you are on the powered path. No lights and no fans means divert to won't-turn-on triage, not this checklist’s hardware half.
Step 2. Tick the external branch
Circle yes/no after a real external test. That single mark chooses backlight/cable versus RAM/GPU work for the rest of the session.
Step 3. Tick keyboard shortcuts
Mark each Win+P mode you tried and whether graphics reset produced a beep or flash. Skip nothing just because the built-in panel is black.
Step 4. Tick hardware follow-ups
Only after shortcuts and driver basics: RAM reseat on the external-dark branch; backlight and cable on the external-works branch. Keep notes for OEM support if you escalate.
FAQ
Can I use this on camera?
Yes — it is meant for video and bench use. Print it or keep it open on a phone beside the machine.
Does it replace the full guides?
No. Each checkbox points to a thicker how-to. External dark still does not mean the LCD failed.
